Fermin Ceballos, is a Singer-Songwriter, guitarist, accordionist, producer and writer. He was born in Jamey a small town in the middle of the mountains in Dominican Republic, studied music at the University Autonomous of Santo Domingo and taught music there until he moved to New Orleans in 2012. He quickly became a welcome fixture in the music scene, performing on several festivals and teaching music and conducting workshops for schools, universities, and conferences in the community. In typical New Orleans fashion. Ceballos began to incorporate local sounds into his music, such as “Zydeco Star” a collaboration with the legendary Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr, on his album”BOCHINCHE” This Album included Afro-Caribbean sounds like merengue, bachata, palos, Latin jazz, Cumbia, and some New Orleans music style songs in Spanish, English and Portuguese. His recent music album titled “SIMPLE” is a mix of different sounds and rhythms with a romantic vibe, an example of musical experiences and aesthetics characterized for a Jazz and Bossa-Nova harmonic richness. This also is a Trilingual music album. In 2023 he became a Voting member of the Recording Music Academy ( Grammy’s ).

Fermin Ceballos, is a community advocate who has collaborated with different organizations. “YO VENGO DE TODO LADO” is a song that is considered the anthem of the Nacional TPS Alliance. He traveled across the US singing the song for a good cause in favor of the people who need a defined immigrant status in the US. He also wrote the Song “VETE A VACUNAR” ,which is a song that was a joint collaboration with the City of New Orleans and the Krewe of Red Beans to embrace the Community of New Orleans to vaccinated against COVID-19.

In 2023 after being awarded as a Jazz Ambassador by the New Orleans Jazz Museum, he started a cultural exchange between the New Orleans Jazz Museum and different entities to create cultural and educational bridges between Dominican Republic and New Orleans. These included Acroarte, School of music of University Autonomous of Santo Domingo (UASD), Mayor’s office of San Cristobal Dominican Republic, School of Fine Arts of San San Cristobal DR, and Gocesa school of violin RD. In February 2024 the New Orleans Jazz Museum in a joint collaboration donated several instruments and art supplies to the Mayor’s School of music of San Cristobal RD and the School of Fine Arts of San Cristobal Dominican Republic.

January 2023, Ceballos was the official artist for the Miss Universe after Party which was held at the Fillmore New Orleans, and his music was the perfect sound for that night bringing joy and a great vibe to the audience. In 2023 & 2024 he was selected to be the King of the Carnaval of his hometown San Cristobal Dominican Republic. April 2023, he performed at the New Orleans Jazz Festival in tribute of Puerto Rico music and Culture in a wonderful performance. French Quarter Fest in 2024 was also an amazing experience for Ceballos. Fermín Ceballos is a great performing artist who loves to be on stage with his band delivering music, energy and interacting with the audience through his shows. As a solo performing artist his smooth voice and charisma engage the audience in a unique romantic atmosphere.

New YORK CITY 2019, he launched his poetry book “WAlKING MY SHADOW” which is a bilingual book, Spanish/English. This event was celebrated at the Cultural commissioner of the Dominican Republic in USA. The latests project that Fermín Ceballos is working on includes,Dominican NOLA Fest, a festival that embraces Dominican Republic’s Culture in an educational way in New Orleans, LA. Ceballos also continues working on different music projects in New Orleans, Dominican Republic and Colombia, projects that will come out soon with new music, including Blues, Merengues, Cumbias, Bachata and Champeta.

2022 - Housing Louisiana Joint project with Louisiana Organization for Refugees and immigrant ( LORI ) to promote and embrace the

minorities in the community to provide resources regarding the Louisiana Housing Department due to the impact of Covid-19.

2020 - 2021 Hispaniola Live -a joint project with the City of New Orleans to create Economic development for the Latin Artist community through a concert series due to the impact of Covid-19.

2021 Official Artist at the first Cultural and 17th Book fair of the Dominican Republic in New Manhattan, New York City.

2015 - 2016-Recognition by the Department of Agriculture of the United States during the Caribbean heritage month celebrations in USA.

2011 - Cultural Trip to (Festival del Fuego Santiago of Cuba) representing the Dominican Republic folk music.

2009 - Acordeon player at the Folkloric Ballet of University Autonomous of Santo Domingo (AUSD) Member of the Rondalla of the University Autonomous of Santo Domingo (AUSD). Music professor at the Department of Folk Music at the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic.
